“Not going outside”

With the world tapping a restart button whiles Corona dwells amongst us, the measures that have been used to fight the virus have somehow been a blessing in disguise for creatives, during the lockdown, Artistes have had the chance to fully focus on their crafts, drawing inspirations from indoor vibes, and Bryan the Mensah is one to turn the lockdown into a recording process, oh his new EP “‘Not going outside” the rapper delivers original material and sound that shows the rapper lived by lockdown rules.
The 23-minutes project breathes a personal setback to inspire the songwriting and production, with abstract features that show Bryan is ready to show the world his debut album.
The Project kicks off with “Big Money”, produced by OKAIWAVE, who has production credits on three songs, the money-minded anthem braids his raps together with dazzling hooks and choruses, with a touch of excellence from Kojo Cue who lays a diverse verse on the song.
Released as the first single off the Ep, “Seeing is believing” just proves how money-minded the rapper is, however, the standout is “Walls”, a regrettable yet “it is what is” heartbreak song that has cried out personal reflections, confessions of love clinging to hope in a darkening world; the potential bop is the bright-Trap inspired tune “No Time to Flex”, a catchy fever-pitch buzz for the young rapper, reaffirming his talent for synthesizing trends into a catchy melodic production.
“Easily” is undoubtedly the richest song when it comes to production on the project, crafted off 80’s vibes, heavy bass guitars laced with a vocoder effect that runs through the song, Bully rides the song with her buoyant vocals, whiles BTM delivers a verse that paints sheer love and joyous words, to sum up, a song crafted from a culture reset year.
Bryan’s trademark of singing and rapping always gets an update when he drops a project, it’s always something new when it comes to his trademark and on “PROMO CODE” he wants to pull up on his lover, it almost sounds like it was written in an Uber trip on his way to see lover, and the originality and realism of his diction support that.
He sums the project off with a slapping outro “MACROWAVE”, a piano roll-led with heavy drums, and with a pound-for-pound rap, he slays the beat with Romeo Swagg, both spitting relentless flows on the song.
His will to embrace any apparent chemistry with dynamic sound shows how much of an asset he can be in the rap world.
