Here Are Some New Sounds Released This Week

NEW SOUNDS – WEEK 14

NEW SOUNDS WEEK 14 100

Each week, we accumulate a list of newly released songs that we think you should hear because music is the only universal language of peace and love. Here are some of the best releases you may have missed this week and don’t forget who put you on these sounds.

Camidoh – Audio Love

Keeping up with loved ones is one of the most difficult things that happen to us as human beings, Camidoh’s new song “Audio Love” talks about how hard it is to keep in touch with loved ones and how much effort we need to put into checking on our loved ones during these difficult times.

Shad – Push That

“Push That” is a song inspired by meeting a girl at the club, and just by the way she carries herself you know she is different. “Push That” gives you a pop feel with R&B style vocals and harmonies. $had’s newest single “Push That” is an easy contender for song of the summer if only we are getting any summer this year.

Rjz featuring Bosom P Yung – Big Mouth (Bad News)

The rate at which negativity spreads in this generation as compared to positive things is quite baffling, in light of recent happenings and events RJZ has released a song titled “Big Mouth” (bad news)which is to say that big mouths spread bad news and we couldn’t relate to this any less, the song features Bosom P Yung and was produced by Nxwrth.

Dee Money – Palanquin

Dee Money’s “palanquin” just as the title says is a rap flex putting somethings and some people in their right places, it’s normal for rappers to brag about things they have, what they do and how they live their lives but Dee Money makes us understand that not everyone puts everything they own out there and whatever you have you’ll not be the first or last to have it, I mean he brags a little here and there but for us, we are happy to hear him rap again, it’s been quite a while.

$pacely featuring Dani Draco – Paradise

The ability of artists to fully express everything they want to say through music still amazes us, $pacely and Dani Draco have teamed up to bring us this new song produced by Nigerian Producer Telz titled “Paradise” the song is a trap anthem, a genre that is not new at all to Spacely. On a towering and defiant production led with minor keys and heavy drums, Spacely delivers a virtuosic rapping, riding the beat with ease, it’s almost like a passed on baton when Draco kicks in, flowing in a joyous voice, but it’s even better when it’s underscored by Spacely’s matching flow on the second verse and Telz’s serration production. Spacely with the trap flex talks about money moves being the only thing that is mostly on his mind and how he and his gang are bent on winning, Dani comes through with the surreal vocals also talking to us about things he likes, how he wants it and the type of girl he likes to move with and more. The labadi music artists take us on a “paradise” cruise.

Khalifina featuring Medikal – Slow Down

Communication in a relationship is something we tend to ignore but we don’t realize how much power it has to make or break both parties in a relationship. Khalifina’s new song “slow down” produced by Yung Demz. Track-assisted by Medikal, he tells us more about communicating with the significant other and stating clearly what we want and how we want it. Both artists pick a line from Burna Boy’s 2012 hit “like to party”.

Midi Kwakwa – Go Again

“I am not responsible for any babies made after listening to Go Again”, this is the message from Midi to all of us and we agree with her because “Go Again” is that song you listen to not alone but with your significant other when y’all are trying to get into the mood, you can listen to it alone like we did, just saying but it’s a perfect song for calm weather and for two people wanting to make love and all of that and oh it’s the perfect song for quarantine with your lover, go check it out

Tayovic featuring Haqi – Anita

Anita looks like trouble from the lyrics of this song, she broke Tayovic’s heart which certainly led him to write this song produced by Nigeria’s Patmax titled “Anita”. Language is never a barrier when it comes to music, the lyrics is a mixture of English, pidgin and Yoruba but it’s an Afro-pop song that you can actually jam to, no doubt about it, so we have a two in one situation here, a song with a heartbreak message that you can still dance to, enjoy.

Darksuburb – Kelewele

After 2 years of development and art-based research in the slums, the space Darksuburb seeks to represent with our art as a rock band/masquerades, Your favourite alternative/Afro-rock band has dropped a new one celebrating and telling the world about a popular Ghanaian dish called kelewele. Many African nations have fried plantain recipes and kelewele is a Ghanaian one which is simply spicy and gingered fried ripe plantain. With the whole hype about Jollof and waakye, the skeletons choose to do a song about kelewele because it serves well with all these dishes. To us promoting Africa through culture starts as simple as with African dishes. We hope you enjoy this new one.

Ghettoboy –  Sugar

Ghettoboy comes through with the Afrobeat jam that will get you moving your body, “sugar” the self-produced song is ghettoboy’s first single of this year and it’s the perfect song for this period. Sugar basically talks about a girl he seems to like. Amidst quarantine and the sudden happenings, it’s just right to have some songs we can jump to even when we are home and literally not doing anything.

Raës – Not Like You

“Searching for someone to give me reason/reason to believe that I’m worth it”, Raës lays bare her desire in the opening verse of the song. In the second verse, her desire is fulfilled, “So glad I found somebody now/Who treats me better”. The simplicity of the record, in terms of both production and delivery – Raës does not inflate the song with harmonies- makes it a pleasant listen. Raës is a Ghanaian singer/songwriter whose music is influenced by RnB and soul. ‘Not Like You’ is her major debut release.

Delis featuring Romeo Swag – Nobody Cares

Nobody cares, yes nobody really cares so you might as well do what makes you happy and comfortable. Delis makes this message much clearer in his new single “nobody cares” featuring Romeo Swag, they both talk about the only they are most concerned about, that is money and the music anything apart from these two is not really a priority so they pay less attention to it. “I just do my thing cus nobody cares”, that’s right, no one cares so just do you and stay in your lane.

Popsnotthefather ft kwakuBs & Hama – RapstarCaviar

This is a South Africa – Ghana wavy collaboration and if you don’t know what a wavy song sounds like, this song is a perfect example. Pops features KwakuBs and Hama on his new single “RapstarCaviar”, trap artists and rappers have their own distinct way of making their songs and RapstarCaviar is exactly what I’m talking about, they talk about lifestyle and a couple of flex things and we must say we enjoy this and we hope you do too.

Wvle featuring Reggie  – Misunderstood

The title of the song makes it easier for us all, most people have been misunderstood in all aspects of life but people misunderstanding you doesn’t mean you’re not on the right track or you’re not doing the right thing. Wvle puts out a new song and calls this one “Misunderstood”, the song features Reggie. Wvle’s message to us is to stay focused regardless of the number of people who don’t understand you, stay true to your formula and work to the top, that’s all that matters.

RJZ – For Life

RJZ has released his first single under Twist Entertainment Legacy which he was signed on to earlier this year. “For Life” is an Afrobeat song that speaks about love and all the good things that comes with it, RJZ is promising his said lover every good thing life has to offer regardless of what people say, he promises to love and protect her for life and we are here for all these lovely moments for life.

Sister Deborah – Sweet Ex

“Sweet ex” is a fun song aimed at enlightening people on the need to have a pure heart towards their exes regardless of past happenings and being matured towards their current relationship. A broken heart makes you experience betrayed in the worse possible way but who says exes can’t check on each other.

T’neeya – Free You Mind

The constant battle with our minds eventually takes a toll on our ability to think freely and be less burdened. T’neeya’s “Free Your Mind” highlights how these battles block your survival instincts and deem your ability to think to achieve your goal then reasons why to let go.
